1 Introduction

These notes form part of the terms and conditions for using our service and this website. The notes correspond to the different types of artwork that we produce and the copyrights that may apply to them.

2 Pop Style

This style of portrait is produced from manipulating an existing image. Therefore the artwork that we produce from the image is considered to be a derivative work. This means that the copyright of the original images still holds and there is additional copyright in our creative work on the derived image. For this reason we need assurance that the copyright holder of the original image has given permission for the image to be used by us to create the derived work.

3 Comic Style and Cartoon Style

In this type of work the pictures you send us are to show us what the person we are drawing looks like. There is no attempt made to copy the photograph - we draw the person or people featured in the photographs. The only copyright that applies here is our copyright in the creative work of producing the portrait.
